The Lord of the Rings
Not much needs to be said about this series. The best known fantasy story ever told, which practically all fantasy has been somewhat inspired by since. I like to think that I can avoid the trap of nostalgia tinting my view of things that I revisit, but this is a series where I think that trap is inescapable for me.
