This book is all about Adlerian philosophy/psychology. I found the format really easy to read and the ideas quite powerful. The books teaches a few key ideas like not caring about what other people think, the idea that who your are is your own choice and you can change, separating your tasks from others and contributing towards community which is everything not just your local community.
The choice to have a youth having a dialogue with a philosopher and asking questions really gets to the heart of the ideas and means you get a lot of your questions answered. This along with the Newel of Knowledge youtube channel as really helped me to get out of a rut which I had found myself in.
When I first moved out from my parents there was so much I wanted to do and it was quite exciting, but it has been over a year and I was starting to feel down. I think this was due to lacking a goal which I had always had in the past, and pushing myself to be over productive to the point of burnout. This book made me realise that I need to slow down, that a lot of my issues were really issues with fear of putting myself out there, and that the things that I was focusing my time on were really distractions from what I really wanted in life.
It is hard to put into words how much this book has changed my perspective. I don't have fully digested it yet though and will likely read it again in the not too distant future.
