Weird but entertaining. I think it has a message of taking charge of your life no matter what you are born into which is a good one. The underground world had some interesting descriptions. Although some phrasing may be dated I do not believe the author used these maliciously, more because they were how he knew how to express them. I believe this was an influence on Dungeons and Dragons so it was also interesting to read in that context seeing the whole adventure as a large dungeon crawl. I probably won't read this again but it was fun.
