Morrowind's Biggest Mods

Morrowind has a bunch massive mods such as Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel which aim to rebuilt other areas of the world in the game of Morrowind and add loads of new stuff to do. It is surprising how active the community is for a game that released in 2002.

Tamriel Rebuilt is a project to recreate the mainland of Morrowind, since the base game is just the island in the middle of the region, to the same scale and quality as the rest of the game. On their website you can see progress updates for the mod. What they have built already over doubles the size of the game world and it all to a great quality and available to download.

Project Tamriel is a sister project to Tamriel Rebuilt that aims to recreate the other regions in Tamriel. They are much less far ahead but have released smaller areas of Skyrim and Cyrodill which are both very promising.

There is also OpenMw, which is a open source rewrite of the Morrowind Engine which fixes lots of issues and is more modding friendly. This new engine even has a multiplayer fork called TES3MP.
