Chicken and Bulgar Wheat Recipe

A sweat and tasty one pot dish that isn't too difficult to prepare.

One of my all time favourite dishes. It tastes great and you only need one pot to cook it. The Chicken could easily be substituted for a meat alternative if you wanted a vegetarian option.

Instructions

  1. Make up stock and add turmeric
  2. Cut chicken into bitesize chunks
  3. Dice onion
  4. Season chicken on both sides
  5. Fry chicken in large pot, five mins on each side, high heat (you want it to be golden)
  6. Add onions and fry until they are cooked
  7. Add puree and coat ingredients
  8. Add cinnamon and coat
  9. Add chicken stock, raisins, and bulgar wheat and leave on a medium heat (with a lid on) simmering until the wheat is soft (you will need to check the pot regularly to make sure it doesn't stick or burn) (extra water may need to be added)
  10. Finally server with the fresh mint and feta crumbled on top
